The landscape design for 'The Folded Canopy House' features a resilient landscape with a unique combination of grasses, reeds, and flowering perennials,
all selected for their low-maintenance needs. It was specifically designed to withstand minimal watering and care during vacations. This design is the result
of continuous planting experiments, to curate a collection of low-maintenance plants and weeds that can thrive together in clusters.
The planting scheme primarily consists of clusters of 'Purple Fountain Grass' with a ground cover of
'Fenivi Angel Hand' and its white blooms. Plumeria trees, Cordyline, and Canna plants with vibrant flowers complete the landscape. The hardscape is minimal,
featuring natural cobblestone for the driveway and linear pavers for the pathways surrounding the house. A textured concrete low wall gently embraces the
plantscape, its flowing form weaving through the garden, becoming the heart of the design. The wall showcases a custom bamboo texture, skillfully crafted
on-site, creating a wavy pattern that outlines the plot without forming a visual barrier, thus connecting the house to the surrounding homes of extended
family members.
This project also includes an indoor water garden with minimal planting, seamlessly integrating into the dining and family living spaces.
